“ Their gumbo is delicious. As good as you are going to get outside of Louisiana and I love their Pasta Jambalaya. It is absolutely yummy. The atmosphere is also really nice. Two thumbs up!!! ”
“ I love Big Daddy's. I don't go out a lot, but it's always a consistently good experience. I'm a fan of the Po' Boy sandwiches. It comes with Cajun fries. I've gotten the brisket, but I'm not really into fatty meat ”
“ Now, I've been to big daddy's before but this deserves a review. I walked in alone and was greeted by Emily whom also was my server. She helped me pick the very best choices for me tonight for my special dinner for 1! The gumbo is a must! It comes out ready to eat. Perfect temp! I could not decide what I wanted so Emily helped me pick some wings and a side of grits. I couldn't have even happier! There are special and drink specials. Fresh and good food. Definitely try it! ”
“ You can't beat Big Daddy's when it comes to Cajun cooking! Service is great, ambiance is awesome and sometimes there's a live band. Can't wait to eat there again!!! ”
“ Yall remember that show? The best thing I ever ate! If BD's was on there it would be them burnt ends and grits. Yeah I've had burnt ends too many times to count and I make grits damn. But together nope never have never would. I'm not anything if I'm not willing to give something a chance and wooow I'm telling you this was fantastic. I found places that don't know how to make burnts at all it's just ends up tuff and feeling like undercooked bris. Theirs was charred so good. Seasoned so well. And that sauce. Not a saucy food guy here but in my Jed Clampett voice WELL DOGGY , slap that over them grits and just give it to me. Everything in this dish. Worked together amazingly the beef the saucy the creamy grits. I'd. Eat this every darn week. Also my rum punch was strong and good loved it. I'm be honest though my oysters are what stopped big D from getting 5 stars. They weren't charred aka broiled enough. For me I like that golden to almost dark color and there was to much cheese and stuff. The oysters got lost in it. I'm going to roll two reviews into one. First time I had BD was two years prior. My sis was having her birthday celebration and got food career from them, but I didn't know till my first official visit after. But the gumbo has to be one of the best I've had in New York. The jambalaya you can't go wrong with it for sure it's a winner. ”
“ This is a bar and sit-down restaurant. Vibe is casual, laid back. It appears to be New Orleans themed as noted by some of the decor and cuisine available. Service was quick. Food was 10/10 except the crab cake Their crab cake to me was ok. I wish the outside was crisper. It did have flavor and was soft with a delicious remoulade and coleslaw to accompany it. Presentation excellent. I am on a quest to find the best wings in Long Island. This restaurant is the top contender. Their only downfall is having it available in just one flavor. It's just plain inconsiderate, really, lol. Anyways, the actual wings... they are slow smoked and covered in a Chipotle mango sauce. They are AMAZING. Meat is juicy, and it has that correct level of smoked that's not too charred but charred enough. The same goes for the ribs. The Asian cajun ribs were fall off the bone tender but still had that char that's essential. They were slightly salty, but the flavor was excellent as they were covered in a thai chili BBQ sauce. I will definitely be back. ”
“ Awesome place love the gumbo and atmosphere. I would definitely cum back love the burnt ends and grits too... ”
“ After all these years this place still doesn't disappoint. Took my dad for a belated birthday lunch. He had another place in mind but they didn't serve what he wanted until later in the day. So he suggested here. It's closer & the food is always delicious. Win Win! I got my favorite the Seafood Étouffée with an order of Fried Oysters on the side. The Étouffée is served over Goat Cheese Grits which I love so much I started making grits at home that way. The oysters were crispy but wish there was more of them. Kinda on the small side but delicious non the less. Dad got the shrimp & grits which he enjoyed immensely. Always a good meal here. And lunch with my Dad is always a great time. 3-25-2023 ”
